खड़े-खड़े कहाँ ग़ायब हो जाते हैं लोग?
कुछ देर के लिए जैसे अपने शरीर छोड़ देते हों।
ख़याल बन जाते हैं?
मन बन जाते हैं?
या कुछ देर के लिए कुछ भी बनना छोड़ देते हैं?
एक टक कहीं न देखता हुआ आदमी,
क्या ख़ुद को देख रहा होता है?
गुम हो जाता है या छेड़ देता है अपने ही बुने हुए माया के जाल में?

पर तभी,
अचानक कुछ है जो उन्हें वापस ले आता है,
जैसे नींद से उठे हों,
पर वापस, कहाँ से?

Where do people disappear, just standing there? 

As if, for a moment, they leave their bodies behind. Do they turn into a thought? 

Or become just a feeling? 

Or stop becoming anything at all for a while?
A man staring blankly at nothing— Is he actually seeing himself? 

Has he gotten lost? 

Or disturbed the very web of illusion he once wove himself into?
But then— Suddenly, something pulls them back,

 As if waking from a dream. But returning… from where?
